The San Marcos Planning Commission will discuss the Draft Proposed Land Use Map at their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday December 5, 2022 at 6:30 pm. The meeting agenda and presentation materials will be posted to the City’s online agenda management system prior to the meeting.

The General Plan Advisory Committee will meet on November 17, 2022 at 6:00 to discuss a draft General Plan Vision Statement and Guiding Principles. The meeting is open to the public and two opportunities for public comment will be provided.

The City of San Marcos General Plan Advisory Committee will conduct their first meeting of 2021 on Thursday July 29 at 6:00 pm. All information can be found on the General Plan Advisory Committee page of this website.

The City Council of the City of San Marcos will conduct a public hearing on 6:00 p.m on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 to consider a proposed amendment to the Housing Element of the San Marcos General Plan which includes an assessment of housing needs, an inventory of resources and constraints relevant to meeting those needs, and an assessment of fair housing issues.

The update also includes an inventory of available lands suitable for residential development and a Housing Plan updating the City’s goals, policies and implementation measures aimed at addressing the City’s housing needs and improving housing in San Marcos, through the year 2029. No land use changes are proposed as part of this Housing Element Update. Minor modifications to the City’s current Housing Element goals and policies are proposed and new programs are included to meet State Housing Law.

The City Council will consider adoption of an Addendum to the City of San Marcos General Plan Final Environmental Impact Report per the California Environmental Quality Act.
